Nepali Language

Regardless of experience and whether you are a budding volunteer or child, parent or teacher at a UK Twin school, a little knowledge of the Nepali language is always welcome and shows your commitment and willingness to engage with the community to make the most of the cultural exchange. Attached below is:

  • A Nepali Language Primer
If you're not a qualified teacher and your itinerary shows you helping out with teaching, you may be feeling a little unsure of what materials you might need to take with you. Attached below are a variety of flash card type materials that will help with the basics:
  • Nepali Flash Cards - A4 size:
    • Basic Phrases
    • Colours
    • Days
    • Food
    • Numbers
    • Time
    • Alphabet, Numbers, Punctuation

Each of these have been designed to fit A4 sized lamination pouches. Laminating your materials before you go will mean you waste a lot of your luggage allowance. However, if you print a copy of each of these flash card packs you can get them copied and laminated in Tansen. This way they will last long after your volunteer placement and give long lasting benefit.

If you have more materials that would be useful resources for fellow volunteers, please email them to info@manisha-uk.org.
