Parcel Delivery - Palpa District

School Parcel Delivery - Palpa District Schools

The following 3-step process has been established because postal services in the rural areas of Nepal are not very reliable or timely. So, the best way to get letters and parcels delivered to Nepalese schools in Palpa District is to send it via the Manisha UK PO Box in Tansen, Palpa District. The parcel will then be hand delivered by the Twinned School Coordinator to your partner school at the earliest opportunity.

We are aiming for a tight turnaround so that UK twinned schools receive parcels back from Nepal within 6-8 weeks of sending their UK parcel. However, we do urge patience as there are many challenges to this process, such as the remoteness of the schools from Kathmandu.

UK twinned schools should use the following 3-step process to ensure swift delivery of parcels to the Nepalese twinned school and to ensure a timely return.

Parcel Weight Limit

Please limit parcel weight to the UK Royal Mail 2kg letter / small-parcel limit as anything above this will not only be expensive for the UK school to send but it will also require export documentation and result in Manisha UK incurring in excess of £100 custom release fees in Kathmandu.

The 3-Step Process:

For all letters and parcels to Nepalese schools in Palpa District please adhere to the following 3-steps, replacing the ORANGE portions as appropriate:

Step 1. All letters and parcels should have a secure outer wrapper clearly addressed as follows:

PALPA DISTRICT

NEPAL

Ph - 075 - 520088

c/o Saran Saru 986-7241293

Step 2. Within the outer wrapper should be a sealed sub-parcel or letter, clearly addressed as follows:

For urgent delivery to the following school

SCHOOL NAME

VILLAGE NAME

PALPA DISTRICT

NEPAL

Step 3. Once a letter or parcel has been sent via this process, an email should be sent to Saran Sharan and also copied to Manisha UK's Steve Tonry. The email should include the following message:

Dear Saran,

We write to inform you that we have sent a parcel for SCHOOL NAME to the Tansen address today and expect it to arrive in approximately three weeks time.

We would be most grateful if you would arrange for its swift transfer to the school when it arrives and for a return parcel to to be picked up approximately two weeks later and posted back to the UK.

So that we can follow progress of the parcels, please can you email us on UK SCHOOL EMAIL ADDRESS to let us know when the parcel reaches the school and email us again when the return parcel has been posted back to the UK.

Please copy Steve Tonry on any email you send us.

Kind regards
